YOUR TEXAS DRIVING RESOURCE

Your next practice session

A simple worksheet to turn good intentions into a focused session.

A completed example

Skill: smooth starts and stops. Place: a permitted, empty practice area in daylight. Time: 20 minutes, ending earlier if attention fades. Goal: look along the clear path, move slowly and stop at the agreed point without a late reminder.

Start with seat, mirrors and controls. Explain the movement while parked, then repeat short attempts with time to reset. If the learner stares at the stopping marker, discuss looking along the full path. Finish by noting one smoother attempt and one task to repeat.

Make your own plan

Choose a location that fits the current skill, not just somewhere convenient. Write an observable goal rather than “be confident.” After practice, record what happened and adjust the next session. The worksheet is not an official hours log; use the required signed course records separately. Do not put personal identifiers into the form.
